Daily Field Adjuster

Allied American USA is actively recruiting for Adjusters for Field Task Assignments. Field Adjuster deployment will be a Task Model, with adjusters simply using Xactimate/XactAnalysis for claims. Xactimate/XactAnalysis is required. Task Field Adjusters must have an active Florida adjusters license, and should be prepared to quickly deploy to storm sites across the state of Florida.

Commercial Property Damage & Liability Investigation Desk Examiner

Allied American USA is Hiring a Commercial Property Damage and Liability Investigation Desk Examiner!

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Property Damage Desk Examiner that also has experience handling Commercial General Premises Liability claims interested in a full-time or project based, remote position to join our TPA Department.

Our ideal candidate is an expert in handling full claim assignments in a TPA environment for first party premises damage claims, with expertise in commercial buildings and golf courses, including litigation (excluding Auto, Trucking, Transportation, Worker's Comp). As well as an expert in handling full claim assignments in a TPA environment for General Premises Liability programs, including GLPD, GLBI, D&O, and contractual liability, up until litigation. Candidates should have strong negotiation skills and be proficient in complying with standards, managing expectations, supporting client specific protocols, and fulfilling management directives. Commercial Property Damage experience is required, and an active NY adjusters license is a plus.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Investigate and settle semi-complex/complex claims promptly and equitably under minimal supervision. Advanced knowledge of insurance policies with emphasis first party property damages, liability and bodily injury (does not include auto, worker's comp, trucking). Interprets and makes decisions using independent judgment on more complex and unusual policy coverages and determines if coverages apply to claims submitted. Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients/carriers and management. Uses independent judgment and expertise and authorizes payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost-effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements. Strong negotiation skills and experience with public adjusters, attorneys and other insurance providers of service. Additional functions:

•       Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to conduct, coordinate and direct investigations into loss facts and extent of third-party damages

•       Extensive knowledge of commercial policy coverages

•       Determine coverage, experience with drafting Reservation of Rights letters and coverage Disclaimers and be able to articulate coverage

•       Determine liability and prepare evaluation of bodily injury/property damage claim based on injuries/damages

•       Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses; determine liability and prepare evaluation of bodily injury claim based on injuries

•       Negotiate with claimants and attorneys to resolve claims

•       Knowledge of litigation, mediations, trial prep and direction of defense counsel

•       Submits closure to manager or client for review and approval, as necessary

•       Review claims assigned for indicators of SIU or Underwriting referrals throughout life of claim; escalate as soon as any indicators are identified

•       Write up referrals as appropriate

•       Notify manager for joint file reviews as defined for manager referral

•       Maintain complete, pertinent journal for each case throughout life of case

•       Maintain up to date diary for all claims

•       Answer phone calls, voicemails and emails within 24 hours

•       Handle and direct litigation files with assistance of defense counsel

Requirements

•       Bachelor’s Degree, and more than 5 years specialized experience including Liability

•       Experience reviewing and quality checking field adjusters' preliminary and final reports; coverage analysis, and damage evaluation

•       Coverage/contract knowledge with adherence to insurance regulations; Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

•       Possess an active home state insurance adjuster license, plus active state licenses per client PIF

•       Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, time management and organizational skills, and customer service skills

Claims Administrative Associate (on-site Tampa, FL)

Summary

The job duties are primarily focused on assisting with all administrative functions relating to daily, TPA and catastrophe claim operations. Responsibilities include data entry for new claims, calls/customer service support, payment processing, preparing letters, routine correspondence, and reporting. The applicant must have expertise working with administrative systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Adobe Pro or comparable PDF editing software; and detailed database entry experience.

  • Obtain information from insured or designated persons, by telephone and email
  • Respond to telephone, on line, and written inquiries promptly
  • Enter claims information into database systems with attention to detail 
  • Accurately prepare and review insurance claim forms 
  • Download, upload, create, use naming conventions for a variety of supporting PDF and jpg files
  • Respond to the service needs of insured, clients, adjusters, field personnel, and home office employees
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities effectively
  • Conduct research when needed to complete requests 
  • Prepare daily reports utilizing various computer systems
  • Communicate and cooperate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner

  • Support workload surges and/or Catastrophe operations as needed, to include working significant overtime during designated catastrophes

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Associate's Degree, or more, preferred
  • FL 6-20 Adjusters license, preferred 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Adobe or comparable PDF software, required
  • Database entry, A/R, A/P, or invoicing, preferred
  • Excellent computer and internet research skills, preferred

As a Commercial General Liability Litigation Claims Examiner you will be an expert in handling and supervision of complex and litigated commercial liability claims. Responsible for the investigation of coverage, liability and damages, negotiating with claimants and attorneys, through the life of the claim, maintain a pending and closing ratio of 100%. Candidates should have strong negotiation skills and be proficient in complying with standards, managing expectations, supporting client specific protocols, and fulfilling management directives. 7 years or more, Commercial General Liability Litigation experience is required, and an active FL license is required. An active NY adjusters license is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve advanced, large loss, complex claims promptly, under minimal supervision
  • Responsible for the settlement of CGL litigated cases, involving disputes over coverage, liability, and damages issues
  • Knowledge of litigation, mediations, trial prep and direction of defense counsel
  • Ability to interpret routine and complex policy contracts and coverage
  • Expert handling of full claim assignments in TPA environment for General Premises Liability programs, including GLPD, GLBI, D&O, contractual liability, including litigation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, and 7+ years specialized experience including Liability and Litigation (does not include Auto, Health and WC lines).  10 years or more specialized experience, or industry designations (AIC, CPCU) may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Previous experience with TPA full claim assignments for property damage liability, commercial property/liability, bodily injury (BI), contractual claims, litigation, mediations, and casualty claims, required
  • Experience handling D&O claims, preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial premise liability policy coverages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to conduct, coordinate and direct investigations into loss facts and extent of third-party damages
  • Experience reviewing and quality checking field investigators’ preliminary and final reports
  • Coverage/contract knowledge with adherence to insurance regulations; Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Possess an active home state and FL insurance adjuster license, required; NY license preferred
  • Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, time management and organizational skills, and customer service skills

Pay

  • Typical salary range: $75K-95K per year, based on relevant experience
  • The salary range is for this level and may vary based on actual level of role in which hired
  • This range represents a national range and the actual salary will depend on several factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the skills, education, training, credentials, location, and experience of an applicant, as well as level of role for which the successful candidate is hired. Position may be eligible for an annual bonus payment.
